Smoky Mountain Weekends is published by The Sevier Chronicle, an independent site covering the history and present-day life of Sevier County, Tennessee.

The Chronicle tells you how this place came to be. This site is the practical side: when to come, where to stay, what the roads are like in January, and where to eat that isn’t a chain.

How we work

  • We don’t take bookings. Every link goes straight to the cabin company, restaurant, or attraction.
  • Paid listings, when we have them, are labeled. Right now The Sevier Chronicle is the only sponsor. Guides and the Crowd Calendar aren’t for sale.
  • We cite our sources. Crowd levels come from National Park Service visitation patterns, Dollywood’s calendar, school terms, and published event dates. Bear and road advice comes from NPS, TWRA, and the cities.
  • We fix mistakes. If something’s wrong or out of date, tell us and we’ll correct it.
